Presbyterians have long valued prayerfully considered expressions of the essential convictions of those Jesus Christ has called into participating in the fellowship of his friends that is the church.  Often called “confessions” or “creeds,” these statements have provided an orientation for the community in understanding the source and substance of their flourishing in God’s world in their particular time and place.  In 2017, Brentwood felt called to articulate its understanding of the story in which it was participating in the words of The Brentwood Declaration.  We think it is a faithful reflection of the confessional heritage of the Reformed tradition in which The Presbyterian Church in Canada participates.
